The New York State Comptrollerjust turn a reporton the experimental condition of New York City underground stations . It ’s bad . It ’s really sorry .
How bad ? Well , a whopping 417 out of the system ’s 468 stations have geomorphologic or architectural defects that need to be fixed . Put another way of life , there are only 51 stations out of 468 that do n’t want fixing . And — not to be alarmist about the situation or anything — but if there ’s anything you do n’t need to get a line about stations for speeding trains that are built underground , it ’s that there are geomorphological shortcoming .
as luck would have it , it does n’t fathom like the stations are n’t about to cave in . The accountant pointed to on the face of it low things wrong with the vast legal age of the stations . Some of them are indeed unsafe , however . “ New York City Transit reports it is making progress on repairing station , but the pace is too slow and much more study needs to be done , ” said Thomas DiNapoli . “ Worn or damage stairs and program sharpness pose risks for riders , while broken tile , lights and peeling paint leave riders with a low opinion of the passage system . ”

If you ’re ever in reality ridden the New York City subway , this news program probably is n’t a surprisal . It’sfamously grubby and full of rats . Famously . But hey , that ’s part of the good luck charm . And at least we know they’retaking charge of the tracks — for the most part . [ WSJ ]
