At WonderCon over the weekend , everybody was talk about a handful of spring / summertime scifi flicks that all had one matter in common : the kind of moral equivocalness that would never fly in Superman . We saw an action - load down magazine from Wanted , whose superheroes are bravo with a charge to control the world ’s fate that sounds creepily like the tenet of Scientology . No fighters for the true and justice these — they ’re just using their force to become godlike . Get quick for a giant moral gray area in other flicks coming your way , like Iron Man , the young X - Files flick , and Starship Troopers III . Get a quick looking at all three below .

Wedidn’t see much more of Iron Man than you did if you watched the Superbowl commercial message a few calendar week ago , but director Jon Favreau did let it sneak that he had to do some very creative redaction to make this movie kid - friendly . No wonder , give that Iron Man as a lineament is about as coloured as you could get : in late series Civil War , he led the government crackdown on the superhero community , rounding up his cohorts and forcing them to be put under surveillance under the Superhero Registration Act .

Starship Troopers III writer and director Ed Neumeier , who work on the first flick , say the new film will be a deal more in darkness satiric . The soldiers are sick of the warfare , and just require to go home . It ’s based much more faithfully on the original Heinlein novel , and from what we could see from the hefty clips they showed us the action scenes will be fun and exciting to watch over . A newfangled multiplication of hemipterous insect have cool robo - case that make them look like a cross between bug and Tripod from War of the Worlds .

And of coursethe biggest draw of the weekend was the novel X - Files moving-picture show , which is being pip even as I write . The jam-packed crowd of G was hold out demented for every small word dropped by director Chris Carter , and the teeny taste of the moving picture we sustain to see was exciting . X - Files protagonists Scully and Mulder have always been virtuously ambiguous — even , at times , plainly insane . And the new flick has 9/11 hover over it like a dark swarm . The fan could n’t stop talk about conspiracy theory about how the original serial was destroyed by the 9/11 tragedy , and even Carter admitted the movie had to wait until the mood in the state was lighter again . Just to try out how abstemious their temper were , stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny spend a whilejoking about how XF3 should be about Mulder ’s experiments with autoerotic asphyxiation.(And we fuck off it on tape — you may see it if you get through through . )
