Plenty of people are still unwrapping their undies after the move to Facebook ’s top-notch - graphicalTimelinelook — and now the company is quick to immix things up again . control outwhat your visibility might look like soon .

Looking at the profile ofTPM ’s Carl Franzen , who already has the new Timeline ( plain in beta examination ) , the design shift is much cleaner ( click up top to enlarge ) . The tumid modification is locomote your name and full of life stats ( college , workplace , home fix , etc ) from underneath the cover pic to right on top of it — superimposed in whitened school text . The image box that used to display your friends and most recent pic are now collapsed into a plain text rectangle — although the latter has already been made redundant with a big image grid at the top of the Timeline itself . basically , the entire upper row of the profile is squished , and the “ What ’s on your thinker ” study gets a big ocular priority boost .
It ’s “ clean , ” but that ’s not always a good thing ! Our first eyebrow raise is with the cover flow text — what if your picture has a flock of livid blank ? Or what if it ’s something more complex than a picture show of a cat ? White school text is n’t legible spread across just any graphic , and this could lead to some serious legibility problem , although there is a light drop shadow behind the lettering . It might not be enough — don’t plan taking your cover pic from that recent ski stumble if this new look goes wide .
The loss of seeing your most recently dog photograph and a fistful of your friends also makes the tip of the Timeline seem a bit more sterile compare to the OG version from this past gloaming — and is anyone really creating “ Life Events ” that would fill out the new Summary tab ?
Facebook is in all probability considering these query riiiiiight now , and depending on the answers , this overhaul may not ever see luminosity outside of a blue-ribbon few : Franzen says “ Facebook declined to specify how many user profile the new trial run would involve , as well as whether the fresh look would finally be the standard for the website . ” [ TPM ]
