I know the Jetsons got us all pitch up for the videophone , but I have to admit , I ’ve never been a big lover . First of all , companies have been trying to hone this technology for like 10 years and its still kinda crap . Never as good as it looks on any given TV show that tends to upgrade it . Plus , as you Gizmodo readers may not know , I make for in my pajamas , which would really suck in video . But looks like Grandstream Networks is trying its hand with the GXV-3000 video recording phone , powered by Texas Instruments programmable DSPs and based on the SIP standard . feature the H.264 real - time video codec , an advance high resolution camera detector , and a 5.6 - inch TFT color LCD , it supposedly give you faster frame rates , higher resolution and real - metre , good - looking streaming video . So the somebody you ’re talk to is n’t say one thing and mouthing another . Also comes with work force - barren speakerphone with acoustic echo cancellation , dual 10/100Mbit / s Ethernet ports , 2 USB ports , 2.5 millimetre headset jack , and RCA A / five output jackass to allow simultaneous video output to television set . croak for about $ 300 .
