“I’ve been a huge fan of CCR ever since I was a kid and my dad would play them in the car on the way to school,” Jack tells PEOPLE. “Their music is incredibly timeless in that it speaks to all kinds of different people from different generations, so I was over the moon when I was asked to be in a project for ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain.'”

“My 5-year-old self would be proud,” he adds.

Quaid’s director also opened up about his thought process when it came to the direction of the video.

“When brainstorming ideas, I knew I wanted to tell a coming-of-age story. Something distinctly real that encapsulated identity. Not teenage years, but specifically your early 20s when you’re still growing and trying to become someone,” Jacobs explained.

“As I continued to blast the song through my ears, I felt this wild rush of nostalgia and freedom, oddly mixed with heartbreak and melancholy; this beautiful anthem that kind of expressed how life feels sometimes. So, my writing partner and I developed this story about three best friends hanging in Montana until one of them moves away. We developed backstories and I even had private conversations with the actors to help build their characters and group dynamic. The whole experience was so meaningful. Our crew poured so much love into this thing, and we worked with wonderful Montanans who just opened their doors and wanted to be a part of the experience. It was such hard work and nobody slept. But we all really believed in the project and the song, and just wanted to make something special. To celebrate this fleeting sense of time we have with the people we care most about. That’s what this video means to me.”

The deluxe box set comes complete with the band’s seven studio albums:Creedence Clearwater Revival,Bayou Country,Green River,Willy and the Poor Boys,Cosmo’s Factory,PendulumandMardi Gras.
