During the country star’s performance of her hit “Penthouse,” she wore not just one dress,but a second dress which she unveiled in the middle of her performance. Ballerini, who marked her 30th birthday Tuesday, began the song in a strapless white ruched floor-length gown.
As she sang the lyrics, “And it stings rolling up the welcome mat / Knowing you got half,” the spotlight intensified and the singer instantly changed into a short strapless body-con black dress.
In the video, Ballerini shared her preparation for the show and her performance.
She practiced the key lyrics that represented the moment she needed to pull down the white gown and reveal the shorter black dress. After she pulled off the white dress to reveal the black one underneath, members of the “Miss Me More” singer’s team broke into laughter.

Ballerini’s Houdini-esque act follows the recent conclusion of herHeartfirst Tour. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Ballerinishared how “incredible” her latest tour was.
“Just to watch the music evolve, and the connection and the singalongs got louder and bigger throughout the last six months, it’s been really pretty crazy,” Ballerini told PEOPLE during her new partnership campaign with Sonic.
Before her performance Tuesday, Stokes, 30,posted a celebratory birthday Instagrampost for his girlfriend.
TheOuter Banksstar added aphoto carousel, including photos of the two hugging, as well as their formal high fashion moments. “Dirty 30 looks pretty damn good on you Ballerini,” Stokes wrote. “I love you ❤️.”
