There’s nobody to spill the tea with like your best friend!
Looking back on a time they were backstage at theGolden Globe AwardswithJonah HillandLeonardo DiCaprio, Philipps, 39, shared that although the two men “were really nice to us,” the BFFs didn’t get an invite to hang out.
“Remember, we thought maybe they would invite us to go hangout. And then we realized that we’re women in our mid-30s?” Philipps remarked.
“Moms,” Williams, 38, clarified.
“I remember specificallyLeonardo DiCapriolaughing at something I said and then looking at me, and it was like the first time, maybe ever in his life, he looked at at like, a 38-year-old woman…and like really looked at me,” she continued. “I did feel like in that moment, I felt he looked at me and he was like, ‘Oh, that’s not bad — that’s okay.”

The pair also recounted a party they attended for the filmBrokeback Mountain, which Williams starred in along with her late ex-boyfriendHeath Ledger.
During the bash, Williams, Ledger, Philipps and her now-husband Marc Silverstein ran intoMatthew McConaughey— who seemed to have a little difficulty remembering Philipps’ name.
“Whimsy, lovely to meet you too,” Williams interjected, imitating McConaughey’s distinctive drawl.

The two first met working onDawson’s Creekand have been inseparable since. Williams even told PEOPLE in 2016 thatPhilipps was her soulmate.
“I’m so in love with her. She’s proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That’s the love of my life right there,” she said.
