Taylor Swift Reacts to Mariska Hargitay Naming Her Cat Karma

It’s a love story betweenTaylor SwiftandMariskaHargitay’s new cat.

The “Anti-Hero” singer, 33, shared her thoughts on theLaw & Order: Special Victims Unitactress naming her new cat “Karma,” taking inspiration from Swift’s hit song of the same name, which appears on her latest album,Midnights.

In late November, Hargitay, 59, shared photos of her new feline on Instagram and introduced the pet, captioning the shots with clever references to Swift’s song.

“Karma is a Cat @taylorswift Meet Karma. My Cat.🐱” Hargitay wrote. She then tagged “MeAndKarmaVibeLikeThat,” “AndIKeepMySideOfMyPawClean,” and “KarmaIsACat.”

Swift commented under the post, “Are you serious?!!!! Nothing has ever come more full circle ⭕️ LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! 😻”

The “full circle” moment Swift references is connected to her cat,Olivia Benson, who is named after Hargitay’s character inLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2015, Swift shared avideo of Hargitay meeting the feline, whom Swift got in 2014, and shared that things were “going well.”

The songstress and starlet have been friends for years. The actress was featured in Swift’s 2015 “Bad Blood"music video. And when Swift wasnamed one of Time’s 100 most influential people that same year, Hargitay penned a short essay on her behalf.

The singer is a “megawatt talent, an extraordinary spirit, an impossibly charming blend of impishness, poise, and radiance to spare,” Hargitay wrote.

Both Swift and Hargitay have been vocal about their love of cats.The pop star has three beloved cats, including Olivia Benson,Meredith Grey(introduced in 2011), andBenjamin Button(introduced in 2019).

Benjamin Button was featured with Swift on one of her covers forTime’s 2023 Person of the Year. In the shot, Swift poses in a long-sleeved black bodysuit and black tights with the Ragdoll cat draped over her neck.

Swift said she met the feline as a kitten onthe set of her music videofor “ME!” and took him home after the shoot. A few days later, Swift introduced him to the world on Instagram with acute photo of the twoof them, writing, “And then there were three … "
